An aromatic voyage to the Greek island of Chios, the only place the fabled mastic resin tree grows, distilled to enticing perfection.

MASTIC is the resin of the native Mastic trees on Chios island, the only place in the world it grows. Known since the 5th centure BC, Chios mastic has been referred to by notables like Herodotus and Hippocrates for its beneficial and digestive properties & unique taste.

Once worth its weight in gold, it was used throughout the Roman and Ottoman ages as a delicacy, a chewing gum or breath freshener.

- Actual harvesting takes place between early August and mid September.

- It takes about five years for the Mastiha tree to begin producing resin, and even then, quantities are small.

One average tree produces about 150 - 200 grams (5-7 ounces) of Mastiha a year.

Flavor / Soft and sweet feel with a microscopic suspicion of sourness. Vigorous Mastic aftertaste.

Aroma / Elegant and clean scent shaping an overall softening and refreshing smell; subtle lavender and coconut mouthfeel, with the unique Mastic smell being prevalent.
